After two straight losses, the Philadelphia Eagles won their sixth game of the season by beating the Chicago Bears 24-20. Starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, wearing his Eagles jersey, did not give his hometown team a chance to end their losing streak.
McNabb threw for 244 yards and led his team on a 62-yard touchdown drive that running back LeSean McCoy capped with a neat 10-yard run, sealing the game as the Bears’ fifth loss in six games. McCoy scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 10-yard run following defensive tackle Antonio Dixon’s blocked field goal.
For the Bears, Sundays’ loss was another hit to their playoff hopes. Trading Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos in the offseason just did not save them from losing fate as it has been more and more likely that the team will miss the postseason for the third straight season.
